Today, SQ Group announces the name-change of its Dhaka Office from “Corporate Head Office (CHO)” to “Business Support Center (BSC)”. The Group feels this name-change was needed to bring clarity around the objectives and directions of our present and future business activities as well as the purpose and utilization of our Dhaka Office.
At SQ, we have been carrying out large-scale expansion plans in the manufacturing units for the last few years. Besides scaling-up the production capacity, we have turned the manufacturing units into fully-serviced facilities to meet the business needs. Everything’s happening at factories, including the key decision makings. Hence, the operations of Dhaka office is changing fast!
The term “Corporate Head Office” or “Headquarters” always comes with a typical connotation; it’s generally believed that the CHOs or HQs are the places where top leaders are located to conduct critical business functions with the teams. However, our way of doing business defers from the above common belief.
Everything is happening at the manufacturing sites. Logically, the purpose of maintaining Dhaka Office is now just to support the activities of SQ Station and Maona, and accommodate only the functions/departments those are essentially required to be located in Dhaka. The re-naming of CHO as Business Support Center (BSC) is perfectly aligned behind our vision…and it makes good business sense too!
