SQ Group and UNICEF jointly celebrated Universal Children’s Day 2016

SQ Group celebrated Universal Children’s Day on November 20 in collaboration with UNICEF. Syed Imtiaz Ahmed, Child Protection Officer from UNICEF facilitated two important sessions on that day for the current and upcoming parents who are working in SQ. It was an exciting day full of fun sports activities, drawing contests, reward ceremony, session for the parents etc. The programs were organized in both the manufacturing locations, namely SQ Station (Bhaluka), and SQ Celsius Ltd. Unit 1 (Maona). Also, in order to encourage about sending children to schools, school bags were distributed among the working parents who keep their children in SQ’s Daycare center.

SQ Group’s top management team was present throughout the program and they shared their gratitude for UNICEF for helping with this important celebration. Special thanks were given to Mr Omar Farooq, Chief of Field Office-UNICEF, and Mr Zahidul Hassan, Fundraising & Partnership officer-UNICEF for their support.

Universal Children's Day, a special day for children and the societies they live in. Established by the United Nations (UN) in 1954, it aims to promote the welfare of children everywhere and to encourage understanding between children all over the world. This special day for the children offers each of us an inspirational entry-point to advocate, promote and celebrate children's rights, translating into dialogues and actions that will build a better world for Children. Mothers and fathers, teachers, nurses and doctors, government leaders and civil society activists, religious and community elders, corporate moguls and media professionals as well as young people and children themselves can play an important part in making Universal Children's Day relevant for their societies, communities and nations. The day is celebrated each year to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare.
