Sainsbury’s CEO visits SQ Station along with his Global Leadership Team

John Rogers, CEO Sainsbury’s Argos, visited SQ Station on November 28, 2016. He was accompanied by James Brown, Commercial Director Non-Food, Diane Carter, Director Sourcing, and Ramanathan Ramaswamy, Country Manager-Bangladesh. SQ Station is SQ’s state-of-the-art industrial park located at Bhaluka, Mymensingh,Bangladesh.

The visiting team received an overview of SQ’s story of sustainable growth, the journey, contribution to the growth of the industry, the noteworthy achievements in the fields of Environmental Performance, and the People practices that are in the core of SQ’s strategy for long term sustainability. The Sainsbury’s team visited the LEED Platinum certified manufacturing units of SQ Group, three of them of which are located inside SQ Station.

Back in September this year, Diane and James visited SQ and did a soft launching of the Fair Price Shop that is located inside SQ Station. This time, along with the CEO, they visited the shop that has already been established and in operation. An overview of the objectives, benefits and processes were shared with the team during their tour.
 
The Sainsbury’s CEO expressed his joy after seeing the safe, healthy and people friendly workplace in which all the 13,000 employees of SQ were performing. This important visit was part of a larger strategic partnership that the companies are looking forward to in the coming days.
