SQ Group signs LoC with BRAC to ensure the inclusion of the disadvantage marginalized people at SQ Factories.

SQ Group has recently signed a Letter of Collaboration (LoC) with BRAC to further strengthen the participation of Disadvantage Marginalized people into the main stream workforce. The signing ceremony took place on May 11, 2017 at BRAC SDP Office, Mohakhali, Dhaka.

 

Throughout the execution of this LoC BRAC Skills Development Programme aim to provide vocational skills training and make scope for employment and livelihood for minority groups and SQ group will ensure job opportunities for those skilled disadvantage marginalized (for example: tribe, abandoned, children of sex worker, people with disabilities, transgender, indigenous community, etc.) people in its factory to ensure the workplace diversity.

Among the present were Tahsinah Ahmed, Director, Skill Development Programme (SDP), Khawaja Saifullah, Advisor, Direct Work and social inclusion, SDP, Farzana Kashfi, Programme Head, Jaydeep Sinha Roy, Senior Manager, Roqibul Hasan, Deputy Manager, Field Operation, Shahariar Alam, Manager, Venture & Financial Development, Rezaul Mazid, Manager, Field Operation and Konok Lota, Manager, TVET & Decent Work from Skill Development Programme (SDP), BRAC. And from SQ Group Md. Akram Hossain, Chief Supply Chain Officer, SQ Group, Manjur Ali, M M A Yeasin and Naznin Ahmed from Human Resources were present during the signing ceremony.

During the signing ceremony SDP, BRAC shared their interest to work closely with SQ Group in order to build a long term partnership. The collaboration will see all the parties continuously exchanging ideas and implementing necessary steps to further strengthen this initiative at SQ.
